» Ballinascreen Historical Society Talk

Ballinascreen Historical Society will be holding a meeting on Tuesday 3rd April in the Rural College at 8.30pm. The presentation is entitled ‘The Last Flight of the Bobcat‘ and the speaker will be John McCloskey. Society publications will also be on sale. Everyone is welcome.

» Ballinascreen CCÉ Texas Hold’Em Night

CCÉ LogoBallinascreen CCÉ are running a Texas Hold’Em Night in the Market Inn (Regans) on Friday 13th April. Regisration for the event is at 8pm sharp. Tickets are available from Seamus Brady, Colm Murray, or the Market Inn. All proceeds to fund music classes.

» Cornstore Youth Club Information Evening

An evening has been arranged in the Cornstore Youth Centre on Tuesday 20th March at 7.30pm for all parents. This event is being delivered by TIPSA (Teenagers Involved in Protecting Selves around Alcohol) and will inform parents on facts relating to under-age drinking. Everyone is welcome.

An evening of entertainment, including story-telling and a tea-dance will take place in Ballinascreen Fold on Thursday 22nd March at 7.30pm. Story-telling by George Shields. Music by Gerry’s Duo. Admission is free and everyone is welcome.

» Rural Schools up for debate in Ballinascreen

We’ve received the following Press Release from Gaelscoil na Speiríní:

      Following the recent publication of the Bain Report and the current consultation by the Department of Education on Sustainable Schools, next Wednesday (14th March) will see the first debate taking place at a local level regarding proposed changes within the Education Sector which will affect Rural primary and post primary schools. The local Irish medium Primary School Gaelscoil na Speiríní in Draperstown are issuing an open invite to all interested Schools, parents and organisations operating in the Magherafelt District Council area and the general Mid Ulster area to find out how schooling in the local area may be affected.
