The Sperrin Vintage Club would like to thank all those who supported their recent vintage rally at An Ráth Dubh. As a result of their fundraising activity, £800 has been presented to the local Down’s Syndrome group.

No sooner had we posted the fact that tickets are now available for the Glasgowbury 2008 Music Festival, than the official lineup has been announced – and get this – there will be 4 stages this year to accommodate up to 50 different acts. Blimey!

The stages are as follows:

• Small But Massive Main Stage
• Spurs of Rock Stage
• G Sessions Stage (New)
• Eagles Rock Acoustic Stage

Here’s a generous sample of who you can expect to see at the festival:

A dance will take place in An Ráth Dubh on Saturday 28th June. Music will be provided by the Crawley Family and Charlie Rogan. Admission is £5 and proceeds go towards St Columba’s Primary School.

Summer Scheme runs in the Cornstore from Tuesday 1st July – Friday 11th July (inclusive), daily from 10am – 2pm. Registration will take place in the Cornstore on Tuesday 24th June from 3.30pm – 5.30pm, and on Wednesday 24th June from 6pm – 8pm.

Summer Disco for P7 children on Friday 27th June from 7.30pm – 10pm at St Colm’s GAC complex.

Ballinascreen CCÉ will be hosting their annual BBQ and traditional session on Friday 4th July at 8.30pm. Tickets cost £12 and can be obtained from CCÉ members. Contact Colm Murray on (028) 79627082.

• Gaelic Games Summer Camps for Gaelic Football, Hurling, Camogie and Ladies Gaelic will take place on: Monday 7th – Friday 11th July from 10am – 2pm for P3 children up to and including Under 12’s. Monday 28th July – Friday 1st August from 10am – 2pm for Under 14’s. Cost is £10 and includes merchanise and refreshments. Completed application forms should be returned to your school or Club Coach before Thursday 12th June. New players are welcome.
  
• Hypnotist Michael McCoy will appear in the Club on Saturday 14th June. Doors open at 9pm and the show kicks off at 10pm. The show will be followed by a disco - no doubt some folks will be hypnotised into strutting their stuff, Saturday Night Fever style!
