» Rural Key Music Project is Northern Ireland’s Rural Spark

Glasgowbury LogoThe Glasgowbury Music Group are pleased to announce that their Rural Key Music Project initiative has been recognised by rural community development programme, the Carnegie (UK) Trust, as Northern Ireland’s representative of an award-winning rural project. Members of the group will travel to a ceremony at the Eden Project in Cornwall on Wednesday 15th April to celebrate thair success and collect the  Rural Spark award for Northern Ireland. It’s been quite an eventful start to 2009 for the Glasgowbury Music Group, having already been nominated in no less than 6 categories in the Irish Festival Awards and walking away with two gongs, and this latest achievement further enhances the groups reputation and recognises the dedication and efforts of those involved.

  • Hurling Training for P1-P6 Boys starting on Friday 17th April from 7pm – 8pm at St Colm’s High School Playing Fields
  • Outdoor training for U6, U8 and U10 Camogie commences on Saturday 18th April at 11am at the Club. All participants must wear a helment and shin-guards
  • Camogie Players are hosting a Quiz on Friday 24th April at 9pm – everyone is welcome

» Derry Fleadh Cheoil – Event Schedule

Folks, as you may already be aware, Ballinascreen will be hosting the Derry Fleadh Cheoil on 6th & 7th June 2009. We’ve just received additional information regarding the schedule of events over the Fleadh weekend, which are as follows:

Saturday 6th June

  • Singing Session in the Cornstore from 9pm onwards
  • Fíor Céilí in St. Colm’s High School from 9pm until midnight. Music by the Ardmore Céilí Band

Sunday 7th June

  • Usual Sessions
  • Youth Concert in St Colm’s High School at 3pm
  • Set Dancing afternoon in An Ráth Dubh from 4pm – 7pm. Music by Céilí Time
