A Family Fun Day & Summer BBQ in aid of Naiscoíl/Gaelscoil na Speiriní will take place on Saturday 8th August at An Ráth Dubh, Moneyneena. On offer will be a selection of children’s entertainment, music and bar facilities. The event starts at 4pm and food will be served from 5pm – 7pm. Admission is £5 (and children under the age of 5 go free). Everyone welcome.

A clothing bank is now located in the Car Park at the Holy Rosary Church. All money raised from this will be donated to the St Vincent de Paul Society.

• There will be no Camogie training for U6, U8, U10 or U12 players this week. The next training session for these age groups will be Thursday 23rd July at 5.30pm.
• Ladies Football training sessions (U8 – U14) will be held every Wednesday evening from 5pm – 6.30pm at St Colm’s High School pitches.
• Hurling Training for U6, U8 and U10 players will resume on Friday 24th July from 7pm-8pm at St Colm’s High School pitches. New players welcome.

The Backrow Summer Scheme (not to be confused with the Cornstore Youth Club Summer Scheme), supported by the Workspace Community Fund, will run from Monday 3rd August unil Friday 14th August and will involve a range of sports and music activities (depending on demand) and will be co-ordinated by qualified coaches. Morning Sessions for P3, P4 and P5 pupils will run from 10am – 12noon. Afternoon Sessions for P6, P7 and Year 8 pupils will run from 12.30pm – 2.30pm at the Backrow Recreation Centre.

A Registration Fee of £10 per child can be paid any Wednesday in July from 4pm – 7.30pm at the Backrow Recreation Centre.

Ballinascreen Credit Union’s newly refurbished premises at St Patricks Street have now re-opened for business.

Ballinascreen CCÉ will be holding their annual Steak’n'Chicken BBQ & Session Night on Friday 17th July at An Scioból (at the rear of The Market Inn). Everything kicks off at 8pm sharp. Children in Crossfire are in the process of recruiting 30 enthusiastic people to take part in their fundraising Cycle Vietnam project in April 2010.
