Due to the County Derry Fleadh being brought forward to  the middle of April in order to facilitate those who are studying for exams the next music classes will begin immediately after the end of the current session. As a result, registration for the next session will take place on the last night of the current session, Tuesday 26th January with classes resuming on Tuesday 2nd February.

Ballinascreen CCÉ will be holding a traditional session in in An Scoiból (behind the Market Inn) on Saturday 19th December at 9.30pm. Admission is £2

Music classes for Fiddle, Flute, Tin Whistle and Bodhrán begin on Tuesday 22nd September at 7.30pm in St Colm’s High School. The 15-week course costs just £25

Ballinascreen CCÉ will be holding their annual Steak’n'Chicken BBQ & Session Night on Friday 17th July at An Scioból (at the rear of The Market Inn). Everything kicks off at 8pm sharp. Tickets cost £12 and can be obtained from Colm Murray (028) 79627082, Séamus Brady (028) 79627038 or Oliveen’s (028) 79628325. It should be a good nights craic and everyone is welcome.

Folks, as you may already be aware, Ballinascreen will be hosting the Derry Fleadh Cheoil on 6th & 7th June 2009. We’ve just received additional information regarding the schedule of events over the Fleadh weekend, which are as follows:

Saturday 6th June

• Singing Session in the Cornstore from 9pm onwards
• Fíor Céilí in St. Colm’s High School from 9pm until midnight. Music by the Ardmore Céilí Band

Sunday 7th June

• Usual Sessions
• Youth Concert in St Colm’s High School at 3pm
• Set Dancing afternoon in An Ráth Dubh from 4pm – 7pm. Music by Céilí Time
