The Sperrin Balloon Club hosts the seventh annual Sperrin Balloon Festival. Over the past few years, hot air balloons have become a common presence in the skies above Ballinascreen – however the sight of 10-20 balloons floating gracefully through the air never ceases to inspire onlookers. You have to be an early bird to catch the balloons though since they typically launch in the early hours of the morning (around 6-7am) or in the early evening (6-7pm) when the weather conditions are most suitable for this type of flight. Launches will be attempted between 11th-17th June, 2005 As usual, we’ll be there to get some photographs of the event – in the meantime, you can see pictures of last years event here.
